Since 2005, Scion has hosted the Scion Tuner Challenge looking for the best car builders across the nation. During this annual event, Scion opens up its mailboxes to car proposals. Many tuners apply, but only three are awarded vehicles to work on. The competition ends at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, the largest collection of the automotive aftermarket. The three cars are judged at SEMA on theme, execution and quality of the build. Their prize? Glory. And cash. Third place takes home $5000, while Second earns $7000. First place receives a cool $10,000.
To keep it fresh, the model varies year by year. For the 2011 Scion Tuner Challenge, the platform of choice is the new 2012 Scion iQ.

Scion has built up quite a customizing reputation in its relatively young life, with drivers from all over the land getting on board with some aftermarket style. Scion Spoilers are always hot items for these fiends because the entire roster is so embracing of the prolific compliment they provide. Whether its Car Spoilers, Rear Spoilers or Lip Spoilers, the smooth lines and contemporary essence of these models just seem made for this kind of upgrade.

Mazda Motor Corporation has confirmed that it will showcase the global premiere of the Mazda Takeri concept car, a next-generation mid-sized saloon, at the 42nd Tokyo Motor Show on Wednesday, 30 November 2011. Mazda’s theme for the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show is “Environmental Technology, Pushing the Boundaries of the Emotion of Motion. As long as there are people who love to drive, Mazda will continue to evolve the emotion of motion in harmony with environmental and safety performance.” The Mazda Takeri concept car exploits Mazda’s new design language, KODO – Soul of Motion, to bring a new level of strength and allure to mid-size saloon styling. Under its appealing exterior is benchmark SKYACTIV Technology, including Mazda’s first regenerative braking system. This technology converts kinetic energy to electricity during deceleration, stores it in capacitors and then uses it to power the vehicle’s electrical equipment – reducing load on the engine and saving fuel. Combined with the new SKYACTIV-D diesel engine, Mazda i-stop, new lightweight structure, aerodynamic and chassis technologies, regenerative braking – enables the Mazda Takeri Concept to achieve excellent fuel economy together with vigorous performance and a comfortable high-quality ride.
Based on Mazda’s new design language, ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’, the Mazda Takeri is designed to express “an intuitive sedan identity” and “an overwhelming emotional beauty” as the latest platform for Mazda’s breakthrough SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY. Takeri provides a supremely comfortable ride feel, thanks to the satisfying power of SKYACTIV-D and new lightweight and aerodynamic technologies. It also features the i-stop idling stop system and Mazda’s first regenerative braking system. The regenerative braking system efficiently converts kinetic energy to electricity during deceleration, stores it in capacitors and then uses it to power the vehicle’s electric equipment, thereby reducing load on the engine and saving fuel. Thanks to these electric devices, the Mazda Takeri Concept achieves excellent fuel economy.
The regenerative braking system represents Step Two of Mazda’s Building Block Strategy. After renewing existing technologies, such as engines and bodies, Step One of the Building Block Strategy is idling stop technology (i-stop), Step Two is regenerative braking technology, and Step Three is electric drive technology (hybrid, etc.).

Is it really any wonder that Mazda Spoilers are among the favorite aftermarket options for this brand? Think for a moment about the image a Mazda typically presents. Sleek contours; modern design; high-tech capability; and hungry performance. Add all those up and it seems pretty evident as to what a custom Mazda Spoiler brings to the package. We give you all of the options for more Mazda models than anywhere else, and we do so by showcasing the highest-quality available. Rear Spoilers, Lip Spoilers, Car Spoilers, Rear-Roof Wings, Lit, Un-Lit, Painted, Un-Painted…get the idea? We’ve got you covered when it comes to the statement you want to make with your Mazda because we know important it is. You want the latest styles, the hottest pieces, and best value possible. We won’t let you down!
A Mazda Spoiler can’t just be an afterthought. You need premier manufacturers to trust; otherwise you could get roped into imitation quality. At CARiD.com, all of the big names are here, including RK Sport, Elite Spoilers, California Dreams, JSP America and more. The discount prices and excellent service that come along with all of it is just how we do things around here. Get involved with your Mazda today and unlock its scorching potential!

At the 2011 MPG Marathon, Suzuki achieved incredible results with the Swift 1.3-litre DDiS. The small city car broke the 84mpg barrier, which is an improvement of a very impressive 25.8 per cent.
The new 1.3 litre DDiS delivers 75PS (55 kW) at 4000RPM and 190Nm (140 lb-ft) of torque at just 1750RPM. The performance is satisfying – 0 to 100 km/h in 12.7 seconds, top speed is 103 mph (165 km/h).
It was driven by Southern Group Regional journalists Dave Randle and Peter Cracknell and achieved an overall fuel consumption figure of 86.40mpg, winning the class 3 category for percentage improvement over the official combined fuel consumption figure.
The MPG Marathon; organised annually by Fleet World magazine took 37 competing vehicles on a challenging 372-mile route designed to reflect normal daily driving conditions and included major roads, motorways and dual carriageways. The Swift used just 19.6 litres of fuel on the route.
The 1.3 DDiS model is available as a five-door model in SZ3 trim at £11 125 representing a customer saving of £1 855.

To hear John Krafcik tell it, the 2012 Veloster is just another Hyundai. Allow us to rephrase that. According to the company’s North American CEO, the searing Vitamin C orange coupe shown here is something we should’ve seen coming, the predictable end result of the relentless innovators at his Korean employer.
Yet to be fair, even now, “innovation” isn’t exactly the first thing that comes to mind when we think of Hyundai. But perhaps it should be. After all, this is the same company that’s led the way with radical customer relations plans like Hyundai Assurance (income loss payment coverage and buy-back, guaranteed trade-in values, etc.) and brash products like the 2011 Sonata, which passed on cylinders five and six in favor of forced induction – to say nothing of its unique hybrid variant and brave aesthetics. From marketing to product, Hyundai has rather quietly built a solid case for itself as an innovator.
And yet… even though we knew it was coming, we still weren’t prepared for the Veloster. Aggressive family sedan styling aside, we haven’t seen Hyundai allow its design team to so comprehensively stretch its creative legs as we have in this little four-door coupe. Did we say four-door? Indeed we did. Following hatchback naming conventions of three- and five-door bodystyles, this tangerine bolide is actually a four-door. It’s got a conventional, longish driver’s side door and a traditional lift-up hatchback. But stroll over to the passenger’s side, and things get deeply funky – there’s a second aperture behind a subtly shorter front door. We’ve seen similar setups like this in the past, a rear-hinged demi-door to ease access to a tight back seat, but this isn’t a suicide solution. The Veloster employs a normal front-hinged rear door, albeit one with the handle hiding in the gloss black C-pillar.
The Veloster’s styling is as idiosyncratic as its door configuration – there’s just a lot going on. That’s thanks to front lights shaped like Parasaurolophus heads and a gaping lower air intake and fascia whose gloss black elements look like they’re trying to push their way out from inside the engine compartment. We could do without the faux hood vents, but presumably these are placeholders for the still-unconfirmed turbo model.
Prominent fender blisters shroud standard 17-inch wheels (18s are optional, including one design with unique body-color spoke inserts), and gloss black A-pillars combined with a tapering fixed quarterlight give the greenhouse a racy ‘helmet visor’ look. The beltline is high, with visual bulk curbed somewhat by a lilting cutline down by the rocker panel.
A Hyundai Spoiler is an easy decision. The sleek overtones combined with the modern body-style that Hyundai models are famous for is what makes this custom application such a hot commodity. Just picture what your ride looks once adorned with the Hyundai Spoiler of your choosing and you begin to get an idea of what we’re talking about. It’s fiery, suggestive, and identifiable. It is also unmistakably unique, promising the notion that your Hyundai model will certainly separate itself even more from the plethora of clones out there! We offer a wide range of options for you take a look at, from Rear Spoilers to Lip Spoilers and everywhere in between. Variety in styles always works. It’s also one of our biggest strengths!
When it comes to Hyundai Spoilers, you need to hear words like fiberglass and ABS plastic to make it worth your while. We know what gets the job done, which is why we outline our entire selection with the highest-quality materials on the planet. Combine that with our world-class service and you get the best of both worlds! Unlock the searing presence your vehicle is capable of. Do it today with CARiD.com!

For those of you patiently waiting for a production Jeep pickup that you can pick up at your local dealership, we have bad news. Automotive News is quoting Jeep CEO Michael Manley as saying it won’t be happening anytime soon.
“It is too late in Wrangler’s product cycle to add a pickup. The 2015 or 2016 time frame makes more sense. That’s when we will refresh the Wrangler,” said Manley at the Frankfurt Motor Show. All hope is not lost, however, as Manley says he is “working closely with the product team because [he thinks] a pickup would be a great addition and a natural extension of the product line.”
In the meantime, buyers are welcome to order up one of Chrysler’s Mopar Jeep JK-8 pickup conversion kits, which will convert Wrangler Unlimited models into a small pickup for $5,499 (not including installation, though you can also do it yourself).
While it’s certainly not as good as a ready-made machine, the JK-8 kit is reportedly selling better than Jeep had expected, which can only bode well for the chances of a production pickup in due time.

Jeep Spoilers unleash the power and heritage the American auto-giant is famous for, highlighting the rugged yet stylish essence that permeates throughout each vehicle. Whether you crave the turbocharged intentions or just want something dynamic to call your own, we think we have something for you. Inside our selection, you’ll find a Jeep Spoiler that brings the perfect compliment to your ride without going “over the top.” A nice edge of class along with some racing-inspired aggression never hurt anybody. In fact, it’s the look that everyone is after! We’ll help you grab a hold of it, along with the best value you will find anywhere. Don’t settle for anything less than what you deserve. There’s just too much at stake.
Quality and value. It’s what every stop on the trail claims to be about but precious few deliver. When it comes to the world of spoilers, you see it all the time. Cheap plastics, fake paintjobs, etc. CARiD.com promises to only use the top name-brand manufacturers when it comes to your Jeep Spoiler because simply put, WE GET IT. We’re customers, too. And we want you to have the very best!

From its early days as a sleekly-styled, turbocharged-4-cylinder boy racer model, right up through to its current design as a sophisticated yet distinctive-lòòking two-door wîth available V-6 power, the Mitsubishi Eclipse Coupe and Eclipse Spyder have long been tailor-made for the true driving enthusiast.
But after a long and successful run as the Japanese auto manufacturer’s signature luxury performance sports coupe in North America, the always fun-to-drive Mitsubishi Eclipse will cease production after the upcoming 2012 model year.
To mark the occasion, the outgoing 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse Coupe and Eclipse Spyder will be available in a unique SE Special Edition that will feature eye-catching exterior features including special ‘SE’ side decaling, black side mirrors and handsome 18-in. dark finish alloy wheels, along wîth the extensive list of high-end standard features that can be found on the Eclipse GS-Sport versions of both the hardtop and convertible models.

Perhaps no other brand invites the addition of a spoiler more than Mitsubishi. On down the line, the roster is full of sleek, aggressively-styled models that scream for a little turbocharged adventure. Some like them for their aerodynamic assistance when they are jetting down the highway. Others just love the striking image a Mitsubishi Spoiler presents. The answers vary as much as the drivers, but one ideal remains constant: a spoiler generates a response. And that is what it all comes down to. CARiD.com understands better than anyone what that means. It’s because of that very reason why here is where you will find Mitsubishi Spoilers of the highest quality imaginable for more models than anywhere else. This isn’t a game to us. Your desires have to be met with complete satisfaction.

The all-new 2011 Acura TSX Sport Wagon made its world debut at the New York International Auto Show today. The TSX Sport Wagon offers a smart solution to modern utility needs wîth its balanced and efficient driving performance coupled wîth bold styling and versatile cargo capabilities.
The TSX Sport Wagon delivers flexible utility and generous interior space- perfect for those wîth a growing family or an active lifestyle. The TSX Sport Wagon boasts an innovative and highly functional rear cargo space that includes a removable side panel to accommodate wider items such as golf clubs and integrated under-floor bins for hidden storage. Along wîth this sizeable cargo space, the TSX Sport Wagon features a comfortable and spacious cabin wîth seating for up to five adults.
The TSX Sport Wagon’s practical utility is cleverly masked behind crisp lines and a sleek, European-inspired exterior. Bold wheel arches frame the 17-inch, 5-spoke aluminum wheels, giving the Sport Wagon an aggressive stance. The chiseled, muscular body and sloping roofline emphasize its performance capabilities while making it more aerodynamic.

Just about every model on the Acura roster is built for bluster. It doesn’t matter if it’s the MDX or the Integra, every Acura ride has two things in common: style and performance. That makes latching onto custom additions an easy task since you can be sure your vehicle will embrace the changes. An Acura Spoiler is a great example of this. A defining Acura Spoiler promotes both seething suggestion and aerodynamic comfort. There is a deep connection between the two and perhaps that’s what makes an Acura so accommodating of this extra-special effect. Face it – spoilers are hot! And as simple as that sounds, it is never truer than with your Acura. Rear spoilers to roof wings, there’s a plethora of options for all models just waiting for your discovery!
CARiD.com brings the heat with our expansive selection of Acura Spoilers that will turbocharge your ride’s profile. Every big-time manufacturer is in the house providing the quality and sizzle you’re in search of. Only the best material at the best value is what we bring to the table.

2009 Pontiac G8 news. With the excellent handling traits of rear-wheel drive, the refined ride attributes of a four-wheel independent suspension and the exhilaration of available V-8 engine power, the Pontiac G8 lineup delivers the type of crisp driving experience typically found in more expensive performance sedans.

Introduced for the ’08 model year, the G8 lineup’s performance range expands in 2009 wîth the track-tuned GXP model. Motivated by a 6.2L LS3 V-8 that makes more than 400 horsepower (300 kW) and imbued wîth razor-sharp ride and handling traits, the GXP is the ultimate expression of Pontiac style and performance.
‘The addition of the G8 GXP to the lineup proves Pontiac has never been more serious about the business of performance,’ said Susan Docherty, vice president of Buick-Pontiac-GMC. ‘More than just raw power, the GXP delivers the sophisticated yet exciting driving experience that enthusiasts expect in a car costing far more.
As the G8 joined Pontiac’s lineup midway through the ’08 model year, changes across the lineup are few but bring more standard technology to the table. They include XM Satellite Radio and Bluetooth capability on all models. Available later in the model year, Bluetooth capability is intergrated into the G8′s standard OnStar system, enabling hands-free phone calls for safer, more convenient connections.
Additionally, four new colors are added to the G8′s exterior palette: Maverick Silver Metallic, Sport Red Metallic, Stryker Blue Metallic and Pacific Slate Metallic. (Stealth Blue Metallic and Ignition Orange Metallic are discontinued.)

Demanding. Intense. Efficient. Stylish. Pontiac can be associated with hundreds of one-word descriptions depending on who you talk to. A perennial piece of American history, Pontiac models are perhaps most often thought of as road-scorching machines that take no prisoners. That’s probably just fine with most of the brand’s drivers, too! But the truth is that while Pontiac provides a boatload of efficient, dependable autos, sizzling style is always a part of the equation. Nothing adds to this concept more than a custom Pontiac Spoiler. There is no argument when it comes to the effect Pontiac Spoilers have on a vehicle. It is an unflinching presence that all but immortalizes your ride. Whether you’re on the search for luxury, more racing-inspired attitude, or a unique suggestion, we’ve got what you desire.
CARiD.com loves to be involved in all of your adventures and Spoilers are one of our favorites.

Official: Toyota officially confirms 2012 launch of electric Scion iQ. During a recent dealer meeting held by Toyota in Las Vegas, the Japanese automaker reconfirmed that the launch of the Prius V is still on track for this fall, that the Prius C will be headed our way in early 2012 and that the electric RAV4, along with the plug-in Prius, are coming sometime next year, as well.
But it was Toyota’s confirmation that the electric Scion iQ will hit U.S. dealerships in 2012 that caught us by surprise. Why’s that? Prior to this announcement, Toyota had not officially committed to a launch date for the electrified iQ. Now, it seems, the all-electric Scion iQ will be America-bound in less than 18 month’s time.
Toyota’s electrified minicar, with its estimated range of 50 miles, will face fierce competition from vehicles like the 73-mile rated Nissan Leaf, 85-mile “best case range scenario” Mitsubishi i, and, if Think Global survives bankruptcy, its 100-mile rated City electric. With electric vehicles already having been condemned for not hitting advertised range ratings, one has to wonder if Scion’s electric will be a success in the States. Of course, the battery-powered Scion iQ’s MSRP has yet to be announced and the vehicle’s price is sure to influence potential buyers one way or the other.

You shouldn’t have to squint cruising when the sun goes down. You shouldn’t have to worry about making sure you see the road in front of you. Once you hook up with a Toyota HID kit, these problems go away. Toyota Xenon lights shine with far more brightness than typical halogen bulbs, providing a powerful yet colorful glow that makes traveling at night or during inclement weather easier than ever. CARiD.com is here with the latest technology in Toyota Xenon lights courtesy of brands like Notto® SE, ensuring you get the quality and results that make the biggest difference.
Toyota HID kits are available in Yellow Blaze, White Diamond, Factory Skyline, and Infinite Blue for the exotic radiance of your choice. Installation is also not a project. Each Toyota HID kit comes with 2 sleek digital ballasts, 2 bulbs, a relay harness, and user-friendly instructions. This is the dawn of a new age in automotive lighting. Drive with more confidence and style. Reach the next level your vehicle was meant for.

According to Automotive News, Volvo CEO Stefan Jacoby has stated that the automaker will likely “trim [its] product line” in the United States over the next few years. Jacoby has not revealed exactly what models will be cut, but instead says that the company’s core products here in the States will be the S60 sedan, as well as the XC60 and XC90 crossovers.
Volvo has already announced that it plans to stop selling the V50 and V70 wagons in the United States, and according to Tamara Darvish, a Volvo dealership owner in Rockville, Maryland, the company will likely phase out sales of the S40 sedan. Our own speculation suggests that the C30 premium hatch could be on the chopping block, as well.
Jacoby has said on many occasions that Volvo hopes to sell 120,000 vehicles annually in the United States by 2020. In 2010, Volvo managed to move 53,948 vehicles, and current data suggests that the company is on track to sell between 60,000 and 70,000 vehicles in the U.S. in 2011.
Automotive News also reports that Volvo is looking to start its own captive finance arm here in the U.S. “We’re committed to increasing sales here,” Jacoby stated, saying that a decision about such a finance division would be made by the end of the year. If this plan gets the green light, it will likely involve a joint venture with a bank or other financial service institution. Currently, Volvo dealerships often obtain financing from U.S. Bank.
